Watchet 2025 Committee
Molly Quint - Vice-Chair
Born in Martock a long time ago, which makes me a Somerset Girl, I moved to West Somerset in 1976 with my husband and four children and bought the Corner House Café in 1983. I loved the 20 busy years there, getting to know so many Watchet people and so much about Watchet and the surrounding area. Since 'retiring' I have continued my association with the town through the Chamber of Commerce, being Chair for three years until last year. I am now Vice Chair of 2025 and Chair of Watchet Conservation Society, which still enables me to be in contact with all my friends in Watchet.
Sally de Renzy-Martin - Chair
In 1982 my husband and I, with our young son, moved from Cumbria to Watchet to be nearer family. In the following two years our family was increased by two daughters and all three children attended local playgroups and schools. Over the years I have served on playgroup committees, as a school governor and, for the past 20 years, as a Town Councillor. I currently chair Watchet Harbour Advisory Committee, Watchet Youth & Community Centre Management Committee and Watchet 2025. I am very keen to see Watchet flourish economically and progress without losing its unique personality.
Dave Westcott
I was born in Roadwater and attended local schools in Washford, Williton and Minehead. I have worked locally, opening the Williton and Minehead Co-ops, and owned Glenmore Foods in Watchet for 20 years. I still have other business interests in the town. I was elected onto Watchet Town Council nine years ago. I have been a Governor at Knights Templar School and I also represent Watchet on the District Council. Nowadays I deliver parcels in the area which is my way of keeping in touch with people's opinions.
I joined Watchet 2025 because I believe the quickest route to the future prosperity of Watchet is by supporting people using every available funding route.
Jacquelyn Reynolds - Secretary
I moved to Watchet three years ago, and instantly fell in love with the town and the community atmosphere here. I am married with three children who have all been educated locally. As a mature student I graduated in Design, specialising in sustainability. I have a small business background based on environmental ethics, and have recently started to hold workshops for recycling textiles. For a small town, Watchet has many qualities, so when hearing the aims of the Watchet 2025 I wanted to support those positive moves for the good of the town, and be part of a coherent regeneration for the future.
Tim Taylor - Treasurer
I was born in Essex, spent many years living and working in London before more recently moving to West Sussex. I have travelled extensively across the world working with large service-focused financial organisations interacting with many nationalities and cultures. Although I am a 'newbie' to Watchet, only discovering the town a month before I acquired the marina, I feel that after 6 years I am starting to understand what makes Watchet tick and definitely want to be here for the long term and to help shape its future. Although new to non-commercial committees, I hope to bring my energy, ideas, commercial experience and entrepreneurial spirit to Watchet 2025 that will help develop and improve the town for us all in the long term.
Sam Westmacott
I retired to Watchet after a varied career in the media and psychology in 2000, intending to write the next book. Instead, I continued working as a psychologist and living quietly by the beach in Watchet until Urban Splash’s plans for the East Quay made rme realise how much I loved this quiet, happy town.
Wanting to see it move forward into exciting and prosperous regeneration, I became involved. Three years ago, I founded the Watchet Conservation Society which I chaired until January 2010.
I believe Watchet 2025 working with groups in the Community could be a most positive facilitator of innovative and exciting change. I will do what I can to support that.
Anne Harrison
With my maiden name being Washford, I first visitied Watchet 35 years ago to trace my roots. In 1996 I eventually moved with my family to Somerset having bought Sunnybank Caravan Park at Doniford. My three daughters attended Danesfield and West Somerset Community College and I taught at part-time at Minehead Middle School for 5 years.
Having sold our holiday business in 2006 my husband and I sailed across the Atlantic and spent a few years at sea…. Somerset pulled us back and we took over the Chives Café and Deli in Swain Street in 2009. I have always had a strong commitment to Watchet and have enjoyed the small town intimacy and friendliness.
Watchet has a great historical strength and I feel that I can offer energy and enthusiasm to the 2025 working group enabling the town to achieve a better future for its inhabitants.
Loretta Anne Whetlor

Am totally committed to the Watchet community and take a great interest in what happens in the town. Watchet has a great past and an even greater future and I am pleased to be part of Watchet 2025 in its endeavours to promote the Town.
